BOSTON (WHDH) - BOSTON (AP) — Boston officials say one person has died in a fire that swept through an abandoned house in the city’s Roxbury section.
The blaze was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Flames engulfed the house and most of it collapsed.
Authorities say an adult died in the fire. The person’s name hasn’t been released. The medical examiner’s office will be performing an autopsy.
Fire department officials and neighbors say homeless people and drug addicts were known to occupy the house at times.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
