NORTH BROOKFIELD, MASS. (WHDH) - Fire and emergency crews battled a massive blaze at a multi-family home in North Brookfield on Monday.
Flames could be seen shooting out of the Nursery Avenue home, and smoke was billowing from the roof as several area departments worked to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters believe the blaze started in an unoccupied first-floor apartment and spread to the second floor and then the roof.
There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire chief said: “Once the fire breaches the second floor, it is not worth sending firefighters in, knowing the floor and roof is unstable.”
