BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut state prosecutor was placed on administrative leave for a week and remains on limited duty after she was arrested at her home for allegedly interfering with police, authorities say.
Justina Moore, 42, an assistant state’s attorney in Bridgeport faces arraignment Friday on the misdemeanor charge stemming from a situation at her Fairfield home on Dec. 9, according to a story in the Connecticut Post published Monday.
Moore was placed on administrative leave for one week after her arrest, according to John Smriga, state’s attorney for the Judicial District of Fairfield.
Since returning from leave, Moore has been on limited duty and is not overseeing cases in the courtroom, he said.
Smriga and Fairfield police did not disclose details of what happened.
If convicted, she faces up to one year in prison, a $2,000 fine and probation.
Eugene Riccio, Moore’s attorney, declined to comment.
