EASTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A Florida man has been arrested in Conway, South Carolina in connection with the fatal shooting in Easton on Tuesday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney.

Police arrested Michael Arthur Noguera, 47 of Lehigh Acres, FL.

According to officials Noguera was found in a trailer in Conway, SC.

He is being charged in Massachusetts with accessory to murder-after the fact, armed robbery and larceny over $250.

Police said the Massachusetts charges are all connected to the shooting of 35-year-old Daniel G. Smith.

Easton Police received a 911 call from an Easton woman who told police her young sons found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the woods.

Police immediately responded to the area between Pond Street and Longwater Pond.

The DA said he was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. He was then med-flighted to Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he was pronounced dead on Friday night.

Smith formerly lived in Easton.

Noguera is being charged in SC as a fugitive from justice and will appear in a Horry County court on Monday.

The DA said the extradition process will begin at that point.

According to the DA, it’s unclear at this time whether Noguera will waive extradition and be quickly returned to MA to be arraigned, or fight extradition and delay his return.

Investigators are still asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle believed to be connected to the case.

The car has been described as a red 2016 Mazda 3 sedan with A FL license plate “371QQK.”

Anyone who has seen or sees the car is asked to contact police at 508-230-3322.

The investigation is still active.
