Tropical storm Danny has been upgraded to a hurricane, making it the first official hurricane to form in the Atlantic this season.
The storm is far from land, about 1,000 miles east of the Windward Islands.
According to forecasters, it is packing top sustained winds of nearly 75 miles per hour and is expected to pick up over the next two days.
The National Hurricane Center said Danny does not currently pose a threat to any land.
