New dash cam footage shows police chasing a murder suspect on an interstate between New York and New Jersey.
Suspect David Campos, wanted for killing his girlfriend early Monday, was driving the wrong way at high speed as he tried to get away.
The dash cam video shows several cars engaging in the high speed pursuit, threading through traffic as commuters pulled off to the side.
One man was driving north on the interstate approaching a gas station near the George Washington bridge, when suddenly the chase was coming right towards him.
Campos and his pursuers crossed from the southbound side to the northbound side, going against traffic at the gas station.
Liam Moran was in one of the cars, swerving to avoid being hit.
“I had to get my breath a little bit I was a little unnerved. You know gut reaction just get out of the way. I guess you just learn that in bumper cars or whatever, I don’t know!”
Campos drove south in northbound traffic for several miles, finally crossing into the proper lane in Fort Lee.
The pursuit continued all the way to the turnpike, where a traffic jam at the toll booth forced Campos to stop.
A cluster of cops took him safely to the ground.
