The death of Jeremiah Oliver, the 5-year-old boy whose body was found on the side of the road in Fitchburg in 2014 has been ruled a homicide.

The autopsy report on Jeremiah listed the cause of death as "homicidal violence of undetermined etiology."

Jeremiah, who lived with his mother in Fitchburg, was discovered missing in late 2013. His body was found on April 18, 2014 in a suitcase off of I-90 in Sterling. 

Elsa Oliver, Jeremiah’s mother, faces nine charges including kidnapping of a child, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault and battery, assault and battery on a child with injury, and three counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

Albert L. Sierra, Elsa Oliver’s boyfriend, is facing 13 charges including kidnapping of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, five counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery, permitting injury to a child, and three counts of reckless endangerment of a child.
