Authorities are investigating the death of a woman who was found in an apartment in Malden as a homicide.
Authorities do not believe the death was a random incident, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities have identified the victim as 36-year-old Colleen Russell, of Malden.
Malden Police officers and State Police responded to a well-being check at the Cliffside Commons on Monday night around 9 p.m.
When they arrived, they discovered the dead woman.
The investigation is ongoing.
