What better way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit than attending the ICS’s Polar Express ride. For the fifth year in a row, children are given a chance to experience the magic of the Polar Express and take their own trip to the North Pole. The trip include, hot chocolate, a silver bell, and a reading of the Polar Express. Rumor has it Santa and his elves might make an appearance as well!

The 45th annual Marblehead Christmas Walk is quickly approaching. A fun filled weekend of Christmas events that help get everyone into the holiday spirit. Each year people gather in the seaside town to take part in the Gingerbread festival, Tree lighting, and of course, the Christmas walk. Plan for a fun weekend that the whole family will enjoy! 

Boston Common Tree Lighting Ceremony & Skating Spectacular

The 74th annual lighting of Boston’s official Christmas tree is set to happen on December 3rd of this year. The annual ceremony includes free ice skating shows featuring national and international figure skating champions; starting at 5pm. Mayor Marty Walsh will be in attendance with Santa Claus, Andrew Younger, and the Royal Canadian Mount Police to help get the celebrations started. A fun and elaborate firwork display will close out the ceremony. Help the city celebrate their official start to the holiday season by attending and participating in this wonderful tradition. 

Community Carol Sing

A Christmas Carol Sing for all ages! Brian Doser, Peter Stewart and Joe Scuderi team up for an exciting musical evening with a few Special Guests. Booklets of carols are provided. A half hour of singing followed by cocoa, cookies, lighting the Gazebo and downtown Christmas Tree. A great way to kick off your Christmas celebrations.

Children are encouraged to bring their own flashlight or glow sticks for the tree and gazebo lighting.

Northeast Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker is the enchanting journey of a young girl named Clara in 1835’s Germany who embarks on a journey through a winter wonderland to a palace of sugary sweets. Featuring the talents of more than 130 dancers who auditioned from the Greater Boston area, along with international guest artists hailing from France, China, Italy, Columbia, and New York, the production will return to the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts in Andover, MA. Exquisite dancing, beautiful costumes, lavish sets, with Tchaikovsky’s brilliant score guarantee a magical holiday experience

Northeast Youth Ballet (NYB), a non-profit ballet company since 1996 in known for producing quality ballet productions in the Boston and greater Boston area. Critics rave and past praises for NYB performances include The Boston Globe, The Medford Daily Mercury, WBZ Channel 4, The Lynn Item, and other local papers and cable channels.

This year, a number of students are privileged to share the stage with international guest artists in NYB’s ballet, The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker will run from Thursday, December 10th through Sunday December 13th, 2015. Tickets are $29.00 for adults and $26 for children and seniors and may be obtained through northeastyouthballet.tix.com or by calling 800-595-4849 (4tix). Groups of 20 or more and students are eligible for discounted tickets at $25.00. For those who qualify, complimentary tickets are also available through NYB’s S.T.A.R.S. Program, a community outreach program created to encourage and educate children and individuals of all ages who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the ballet. This group includes students, senior citizens, special needs organizations and military families from the inner city and surrounding communities.
