Welcome to the weekend people… and welcome to seasonable December weather.
It’s a cold and windy start to this Saturday and not much will change through the day as temps hover in the mid to upper 30s for the most part. That is near average for this time of year. What’s a bit over the top, is the wind. At times, that active west to northwest breeze gusts 30-40mph, adding an extra chill to the air and making it one of those "hold on to your hat" type of days.
Although much of the day and much of the area is dry, a few flurries can’t be ruled out this morning northwest of Boston, with the best chance to see them closer to the MA/NH border. In fact, we’ll likely see a few scattered snow showers over the western half of southern New Hampshire this morning and more widespread snow squalls in VT. Good snow making weather this weekend for Ski Country.
How about a white Christmas? Yeah, right. The bare ground stays bare next week as temps go up again. Most days run in the 50s, however, the best chance of 60+ runs in here Christmas Eve. 61 is the record to shoot for on Christmas Eve, and I think we have a legit shot of cracking it. The warmest Christmas Day on record is 65, set way, way, way back in 1889. That one looks to be safe as Christmas temps run in the 50s. The best shot of rain comes in Wednesday and Wednesday night, but a couple showers can’t be ruled out Tuesday or Thursday night either. Ice/snow will not be a travel issue.
Enjoy this weekend and go Pats!!!!!!!!
