Ahhh… that’s more like it.
For a lot of folks, the cold and snow has seemed to come in a bit too soon, although if you’re a skier or snowboarder, you’re saying keep bringing it! Well, for those who need to thaw out a bit, the next couple of days are for you. It’ll be a good opportunity to hang those Christmas lights Clark Griswold style or put up other holiday decorations. Temperatures this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon will range from the mid to upper 40s outside 495 to the mid to upper 50s south of Boston.
What goes up, must come down this time of year, and we will have some chilly air back in the picture by Tuesday as highs struggle again to hit freezing. In fact, you’ll see some of that cold air late this afternoon. Not here, but in Green Bay for the Pats game. Kickoff temps there run in the mid 20s with an active breeze. For what it’s worth, if the game was a day later, kickoff temps would have been near 10 in the land of cheese. Not sure it would matter much as both teams seem to be good cold weather teams and fans from New England and Green Bay take pride in being tough in the cold. I digress. Anyway, that’s the cold air heading here for Tuesday.
The cold blast this go around is only a one day event as another warm front pushes in overnight Tuesday, into Wednesday morning. Also pushing in will be some mixed precipitation, allowing for a few slick spots Wednesday morning, especially north and west of Boston. The precipitation won’t be heavy, and turns to spotty showers for the afternoon as highs near 50 again.
By the end of the week, you guessed it… more cold air. In addition, we have have more messy weather in here for Saturday as rain/snow/mix may move it.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Go Pats!
