CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A group of New Hampshire Army National Guard members is being deployed to Afghanistan.

A ceremony was held Saturday in Concord for the seven members of the Operational Support Airlift Detachment 18. They were on their way to training in Texas and then to Afghanistan.

The fixed -wing aviation unit will be doing aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

This is the detachment’s fourth deployment in the last 12 years. It was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 and to Kuwait in 2007 and 2014. The Guard says the detachment’s primary mission is medium range transportation of military passengers and senstive cargo.
