DERRY, N.H. (WHDH) - Police are investigating after multiple racist messages were sent to a family in Derry, New Hampshire.
Jaci Stimson has lived in Derry, New Hampshire for the past five years with her 7-year-old son, who is biracial. She said she has never had any problems like this before until now.
“I’m angry, I’m disappointed. I didn’t know this still existed,” said Stimson. “Maybe I’m naive, I live in this world where I think everybody is good. I’m not sorry, I didn’t do anything wrong. My son’s beautiful, he has no reason to feel ashamed, we’re not ashamed.”
On Oct. 21, police said “N—– lover” was keyed into Jaci Stimson’s car while she was asleep. On Oct. 24, police said a sign had been placed at the end of Stimson’s driveway. The sign read, “N—– go home.”
Wednesday, Stimson said she found her car has been egged while it was parked in her driveway. She said she also found fried chicken and watermelon had been thrown in her front yard.
Stimson said her son is very upset and has started asking her questions.
“He’s 7, so he asked me what he did wrong and why people may not be liking him and do you answer that?” said Stimson.
Police in Derry are still investigating these series of incidents and said the crimes appear to be racially motivated. Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to contact Derry Police at 603-432-6111.
