A year ago tonight I was watching a wall of heavy snow approach the South Coast and then overspread southern New England and pummel us with 24" of snow in Boston & 34" of snow in Worcester. Over the next 3 weeks the city would pick up 84" and adding insult to injury was the incredible cold…not allowing any snow to melt. In that 3 week stretch, Boston only topped 32 degrees 3 days but never reached 40. I find the more I talk about it the better I feel–it helps to gain closure if you will. Thankfully, tonight I’m blogging about a mild pattern.
Yup, many cities & towns we’re near or over 50 degrees. Ahhhhh….we melted snow and we will melt more tomorrow. Not quite as warm tomorrow as we have a cool front crawling through New England late tonight but this is not an arctic front so temps won’t be knocked down too much—plan on low 40s each of the next two days (normal high is 36). Bit breezy tomorrow may add a bit of a chilly in the air (sorry kids, listen to mom/dad—no wearing shorts to school tomorrow).
Friday we see another cool front take a swipe at New England with clouds & perhaps a few flurries (or even sprinkles) but once again, this front is lacking arctic air as well. reason being is our El Nino winter as there just isn’t that much cold air to pester us or more importantly–lock into place for any significant amount of time. I’m not here to say winter is dead but at least we don’t have any arctic assaults on the way over the next 6-7 days.
55 Days until spring. ;o)
