Rain is sweeping in from the west this evening. Don’t be…
1) Shocked if the temperature drops sharply as it sets in
2) Shocked that it mixes with sleet or wet snowflakes
It’s merely the lingering cold air in the upper atmosphere – that’s about to be kicked to the curb in the next 12-24 hours.
I was a little taken back by the high of 48 in town this afternoon. All day long, the sea breeze held us hostage and kept us in the low 40s. Then late this afternoon, the wind turned more southerly and our temperature shot up near 50. Vivid reminder that the wind direction is king this time of year.
More south winds tomorrow. Thing is, we’re bogged down in clouds and some fog. Ideally, with full sun, upper 60s would be fair game. However, with clouds and showers, 50s will have to do. Don’t know about you, but I’ll take that and run.
Colder air returns on Friday, but it will take a day to work in. Chill really sets in Friday night and Saturday. Expect to see a few flakes flying Saturday too. Again here, it really doesn’t mean anything, but it’s certainly enough to may make you groan.
Longer range looks OK. Still don’t see any reason to push the numbers into the 60s or 70s….yet. Trust me, I have my hand on the button. You’ll be the first to know of any potential warm day.
