One Boston Day is now a day to give back and show the world what the city is all about.
In Dorchester, the family of Martin Richard worked with a group of volunteers to give the area a fresh look.
The community rallied around Martin Richard’s family three years after the tragic Boston Marathon bombings that killed the 8-year-old.
On Friday, a large crowd gathered in Dorchester for the second annual MR8 run.
Martin’s dad Bill and brother Henry ran, while his mom Denise and sister Jane cheered.
Earlier in the day, the family gathered with other volunteers to spruce up Peabody square in Dorchester.
The mayor even stopped in to help with the cleanup.
It was a day of good deeds, and runners coming together to help keep Martin Richard’s memory alive.
