BOSTON (WHDH) - Dozens of students at the Mendall Elementary School have gotten sick, prompting a response from school officials.

A total of 21 students missed class Wednesday, and 26 missed class Tuesday.

School officials are advising parents to keep their children home if they have any symptoms.

School officials released a statement:

“The BPS Facilities Department has conducted thorough cleanings of the school on multiple occasions this week to prevent the transmission of illnesses. BPS has been in close communication with the Boston Public Health Commission and we are closely monitoring the situation.”
