A California man is lucky to be alive after he was pulled from his car moments before it was hit by a train and the dramatic rescue was caught on camera.

In the video, a deputy is seen dragging a man away from his car, just seconds before a dangerous collision with a train.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office, two deputies were in the area when they heard what sounded like a traffic collision.

The deputies, who were just a few cars away, saw a vehicle had collided into a crossing guard.

One of the deputies ran on the tracks to notify the incoming train while the other deputy removed from driver from the vehicle.

“These deputies did not hesitate,” said Salvador Zuno, of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department. “I believe because they reacted this person is alive today.”
