BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - The driver wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Brockton on Friday has turned himself in.

The crash happened early Friday morning on North Main Street in front of The Spot Bar and Lounge.

A group was crossing the street when police said 25-year-old Sergio Licona was hit by a car, which did not stop. Licona died on his injuries Monday.

On Sunday, officials said they identified the car. Police said they received a tip from the car’s owner, who was not behind the wheel at the time.

“We are a community here. And while I can’t control everything that happens on the streets, I’m responsible for my patrons,” said Chenet Sam, the owner of the Spot Bar and Lounge. He said he plans to make security changes to keep his patrons safe.

Licona is survived by three children and his wife, who lives in Honduras.
