A Lowell man pleaded not guilty to a charge of operating with a suspended license after police said tires from his truck came off and hit two drivers in Waltham, seriously injuring one.
Valveer Dossantos, 48, pleaded not guilty in court Monday. Police said two tires came off his truck was he was driving southbound on Route 95 and struck two different cars. The driver and passenger in one car were not hurt but the second driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Rose Dedominicis, 27, was driving on the northbound side when police said one of the tires bounced off the median and struck her in the car. Her boyfriend said she was on her way to be with her family as they made funeral arrangements for her grandmother.
Dedominicis’ boyfriend said she suffered broken teeth, whiplash and a concussion in the crash. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.
