WINDHAM, N.H. (WHDH) -
A 72-year-old North Andover woman slammed into a state police cruiser on Interstate 93 in Windham, New Hampshire Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The trooper was seated inside the cruiser conducting a construction detail on the southbound side of the highway around 3:20 P.M. when Sharen Marcus crashed into it, according to the department.
Marcus was traveling in the right lane when her 2012 Ford Focus veered to the right and crashed into the parked cruiser.
Both were taken to a hospital for an evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not been made public.
An investigation determined Marcus was driving on a suspended license and that her plates were invalid.
She is facing charges for operating with an invalid license, misuse of plates and reckless operation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police at 603-223-8830.
