Police are looking for the driver who they said crashed into two cars and a utility pole in Haverhill.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck tried squeezing between two parked cars on Main Street but ended up hitting them both. Witnesses said the truck then went in reverse at roughly 60 miles per hour before slamming into a utility pole.

"All I saw was him coming in reverse. He didn’t even hit the brakes," said witness Don German.

The driver and a passenger then got out and fled on foot. German and his neighbor chased the suspects before police arrived but only the passenger was apprehended and arrested.

Crews are on the scene fixing the pole. Initially, police were concerned the pole would not be repaired because the utility poles in Haverhill are owned by Verizon. The company said they sent a different crew to fix it.
