An annual egg hunt for visually-impaired children was held Saturday in Watertown.
More than 100 children attended the sixth annual egg hunt Saturday. The event, hosted by the Perkins School for the Blind, uses special eggs for the children to find using their sense of sound.
The eggs scattered around the playground in Watertown were battery-operated and chirped so the children were able to locate them by hearing. Others were decorated with different textures so children who are also deaf could feel for the eggs.
"One of the most exciting things about the spring egg hunt is that kids who are blind can come together at a traditional seasonal event and all have the same kind of fun," said Marilyn Reabeyer, the media and public relations director for Perkins.
Two of the children found golden eggs and won baskets full of prizes.
