FALL RIVER, MASS. (WHDH) - An elderly man was attacked by members of a wedding party at a hotel in Fall River over the weekend.
He said the attack happened after he asked them to keep the noise down.
“I can’t comprehend why people are so mean to him, I love him,” Eleanor Marceau said. “I was totally devastated it was just horrible, horrible.”
Marceau cried as she looked over at her bruised and battered husband.
According to police, members of a wedding party attack the 79-year-old man at a hotel in Fall River over the weekend.
“I went out and asked them to please be quiet, you know, ‘We’re trying to get some sleep,’ and they said ‘What are you going to do about it’,” Al Marceau said. “One thing led to another, and before you know it we are in an argument and a fight. There’s fists flying all over the place in and then after that happened they threw me to the ground and started kicking me.”
Investigators said three of the attackers are expected to be charged with felony assault and battery.
Al Marceau will be called to court as well.
A witness told police he swung first.
7News reached out to the hotel cooperation. They said they are looking into the incident.
Marceau will be charged with misdemeanor assault.
