An 85-year-old woman was rescued after her car plunged into the ocean on the Connecticut shoreline Thursday.
The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. in Groton, Connecticut.
The woman, 85-year-old Marie Fitzgerald, was trapped in her sinking car after she crashed through a railing and landed in the ocean.
A group of Good Samaritans came to the rescue, with one of them smashing part of her windshield with a piece of the broken railing.
When police arrived, they smashed another window and were able to rescue her.
Fitzgerald was alert at the time of the rescue, and was not injured.
