More testing will be done at an elementary school in Millis after concerns over air quality forced officials to shut the school down.
Results taken from two areas of Clyde Brown Elementary school over the school’s winter break showed concerns.
The Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Public health were called to assist with guidance and further testing.
Testing was done Thursday and Friday and results were sent to two different labs for verification.
The results from one lab indicated there is no level of concern, but the other lab results for the same location did indicate a concern.
A licensed Safety Professional with expertise in this area was hired.
The state agencies and the consultant will continue to do more testing and will collaborate to develop contingency plans.
Officials say there is no concern at the Extended day building, but it will also be closed due to lack of staffing.
School will be in session as usual for grades 5-12 at the Middle and High School.
The school hopes to have conclusive test results on Wednesday, and plans to put an air remediation system in place.
The school will plan to reopen once those results are in.
