MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) - Police, fire, and emergency crews were on the scene of a high school in Manchester, New Hampshire after several students reported feeling sick.

According to Manchester Police, Manchester West High School was evacuated at 11:15 a.m. due to “chemical odors.”

Police say custodians had started work in the school’s gymnasium using a chemical that permeated the rest of the school.

Several students reportedly became nauseous with headaches and other side-effects.

The school was evacuated while the odor was eliminated.

Officials say several students are being treated, although there is no report of the severity of their symptoms.

There is no immediate word when the school will re-0pen.
