Nice lil dusting of snow early this morning as a weather system happened to be passing south of New England..thankfully, it (the weather system) didn’t stay very long and before you knew it, the sun was back. Unfortunately, another weather system–two in fact–head this way for tomorrow and again on Saturday.
Tomorrow’s is weak & feeble so other than clouds & few flurries/patches of drizzle, it’s a non-event. The weather system will try and warm things up but cold air is stubborn and with little to no sun, I’d lean on a chilly feel in the air for much of the day but not bitterly cold like earlier this week.
The next weather system is much more robust as it is spending this evening in the Gulf of Mexico (lovely place this time of year). That time is well spent for the storm as it will load up on moisture and zip north along the I-95 corridor arriving into New England by early Saturday morning. If this were *not* an El Nino winter, I’d be set to detail snowfall forecasts but it *IS* an El Nino winter and these winters, cold air is hard to come by. That means you have raindrops for Saturday morning, quite a few actually, upwards of an inch of rain before ending by midday. There may be some cold air in the Worcester Hills early Saturday Morning which could lead to some freezing rain/slick travel before 9am but for the rest of us, it’s wet roads only. The fast moving nature of the storm helps out Pats ticket holders as it will be dry for the game (a few isolated showers possible for tail-gating) with temps in the mid 30s.
Sun is back on Sunday before another storm clips us on Monday. That storm will produce some snow flurries and snow showers.
Tomorrow marks "halftime" of meteorological winter (Dec-Feb)…let’s hope Ma Nature doesn’t make any halftime adjustments.
