QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - 52 endangered sea turtles are heading to a new home.

They were rescued off the coast of Cape Cod and are now making their way to Florida and it is all thanks to a couple from Michigan.

The turtles were recovering from hypothermia at the New England Aquarium sea turtle hospital in Quincy.

Today they boarded a private plane to Florida, where they will get more rehab before being released into the wild.

The aquarium’s sea turtle hospital has already received 229 sea turtles this year, treating them, before sending them to other rehab facilities on the east coast.
