Rain is working its way into the area again today – so while it may be dry as you step out this morning, you’ll want to grab the rain gear!  Spots of drizzle or light showers are a possibility through the morning, but the steadier rain will hold off until the afternoon.  Between 3-4pm showers will become more widespread, and fog will be setting in as well.  Just in time, too.  And by that I mean, just in time for the evening commute… Yikes.  Pack your patience.  As well as the showers will be areas of dense fog.  It may be a slow roll home.  Looks like between 0.30" to 0.50" of rain for most, but there could be some spots that get closer to an inch (South Coast, Cape Cod).

Temps are starting out the day around 40°, which oddly enough is close to our "normal" high temp for this time of year.  While we don’t see a huge jump in temps this afternoon, spots south of the Mass Pike will make it into the low 50s.  Boston and points north will be in the mid to upper 40s.  We’re already running almost 10 degrees above average for the month of December so far… We might as well continue that trend!!!

So you probably guessed it: "Same story, different day" for tomorrow!  Highs on Friday will also be around 10 degrees above normal; around 50° for most.  Clouds will also be sticking around, and we can’t rule out a passing shower in SE Mass.  Not a "rain gear" day by any means, but still a chance of a light passing shower.

Thinking of heading to the beach this weekend?  (I’m a little serious with that question – as these mild temps have us all a bit confused).  Not so fast!  Some cold is dropping by for a visit this weekend – though, it doesn’t stick around for too long.  Highs will top out near 40 for both Saturday and Sunday, and blustery winds on Saturday will make it feel like it’s in the 30s.  You still have that winter coat handy, right?  The other thing to watch for on Saturday will be some lake effect snow to our west… which could make it far enough east to bring some flurries and or snow squalls.  Not expecting anything out of this really, except for the chance of reduced visibility in some isolated spots and maybe some light accumulation on eastern slopes of the Berkshires.

Two days of more December-like weather is all we get.  Temps are back on the rise next week – and Christmas Eve is still looking like 60°+!  Have a great day. – Breezy
