EVERETT, MASS. (WHDH) - An Everett police officer appeared in court Thursday, accused of attacking his pregnant wife during an argument.
Michael Mori was suspended without pay after his arrest.
He appeared in Salem District Court following his arrest this week, charged with assaulting his pregnant wife inside the couple’s Salisbury home.
The 34-year-old officer came to court hoping to be released from custody after a district court judge on Tuesday ordered him held without bail.
Prosecutors look to have Mori held and said Everett Police suspended the officer three years ago.
Mori’s attorney said his client is not a danger to the public and should be released.
He was released on the condition that he wear a GPS monitoring bracelet.
His trial is set to being later this month.
