An Everett police officer was arrested for allegedly attacking his pregnant wife.
According to court papers, the alleged incident happened Sunday evening in Salisbury, where 34-year-old Michael Mori lives with his wife. The couple also has a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old.
Police said Mori’s wife, who is seven months pregnant, found out he had women over to their house when she was away. Mori’s wife said they got into a fight and Mori tried to strangle her and kick her in the stomach. He also allegedly threatened to get his gun.
The police report included pictures of Mori’s wife with bruises and scratches. Court documents said his wife also took cellphone video of Mori the next morning, not letting her leave the house by placing the 6-year-old son on the hood of her car.
Police said Mori’s wife got upset with them because she did not want her husband to lose his job. She also refused to file a restraining order against him.
Mori was charged with assault on a family member, assault on a pregnant victim and strangulation. The Everett Police Department declined to comment.
