GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) — The former manager of a Massachusetts apartment complex for low-income tenants has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $8,000 from four residents and $40,000 from the owners.

The Gloucester Daily Times reports that 42-year-old Erica Perry was sentenced last week to serve three months of a 2 ½-year jail sentence in home confinement, with the remainder suspended for two years. She pleaded guilty to multiple larceny counts.

Perry was manager of the Pond View Village complex in Gloucester. Prosecutors say Perry, with addresses in Gloucester and Rockport, pocketed tenants’ rent money and also told ownership that an apartment was vacant while it was leased to a paying tenant.

She was also ordered to pay restitution.
