BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A former emergency room doctor at Vermont’s largest hospital was indicted Thursday on a federal child pornography charge, prosecutors say.

Eike Blohm, 38, of South Burlington, was charged in state court in April with setting up a video camera in a staff bathroom at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Investigators later found 21 videos of a minor child known to investigators bathing nude at another location.

Investigators said they also found more than 130 images of child pornography involving other minors after receiving a warrant to search Blohm’s iPad.

He first appeared in federal court last month, where he was ordered held without bail pending trial.

Blohm’s attorney declined to comment Thursday.

Blohm, who holds both U.S. and German citizenship, is facing a 15-year minimum prison sentence.

In a news release, Vermont U.S. Attorney Christina Nolan said that if Blohm is convicted, the government would seek forfeiture of his property.

No date has been set for an arraignment.
