CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A former staffer for New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan has been charged with posting private, identifying information about one or more senators on the internet amid the impassioned fight over whether to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Capitol police said late Wednesday that 27-year-old Jackson Cosko, of Washington, D.C., has been charged with five federal offenses. Cosko appeared Thursday in U.S. District Court in Washington and Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson ordered him jailed pending a hearing Oct. 9.
Cosko allegedly posted personal information about several Republican senators on their Wikipedia pages without their permission.
According to Legistorm, a website that tracks lawmakers and Capitol Hill staffers, Cosko worked for Hassan from January 2017 to May 2018. A phone listing for Cosko could not be found.
