CLEARWATER, Fla. (WHDH) — A former Navy pilot was rescued by the Coast Guard in the Gulf of Mexico after he fell out of his boat while fishing.

William Durden, 61, fell overboard while he was fishing alone. He was not wearing a lifejacket and ended up treading water for the next 20 hours.

Two hours into their search, the Coast Guard found Durden and rescued him. He was physically fine but glad to finally be rescued.
