FALL RIVER, MASS. (WHDH) - A Fall River police officer has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man in the department’s custody.
Federal prosecutors say Nichola Hoar beat the man with a baton in 2020 and then filed two reports that failed to mention the assault.
Hoar is charged with deprivation of rights under color of law and two counts of filing false reports.
If convicted, Hoar could face decades in prison and hefty fines.
