A state trooper killed in the line of duty was honored Saturday evening in his community of Hudson.
During a town celebration Saturday, a moment of silence was held for the community to remember Trooper Thomas Clardy. The husband and father of six was killed after his cruiser got rear-ended on the Mass Pike in Charlton.
"It’s a beautiful tribute to someone who will be missed very much, he was a great person," said Kristen Charbonneau. The teacher taught all four of Clardy’s daughters and called his death "heartbreaking and devastating."
Clardy’s wake will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Hudson on Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral will be at the church on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
