LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - The family of State Trooper Thomas Clardy was honored during the Lowell Spinners game on Sunday.
They threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
A portion of the ticket sales were donated to the family.
Clardy was killed when his cruiser was hit by another car during a traffic stop on the Mass Pike in Charlton back in March.
He is survived by his wife and six children.
Police said the driver was speeding when he crossed three lanes of traffic and hit Clardy’s cruiser.
Prosecutors believe the driver was under the influence of marijuana at the time.
He is facing several charges, including motor vehicle homicide and manslaughter.
