We’re going to make #fancyfall a trending hashtag on Twitter this weekend! Well, I am going to try, at least. :c) It really is a fancy forecast for the holiday weekend – even though we’re starting off a little chilly. The showers and thunderstorms of last night are long gone, and we’re left with clear skies and bright sunshine for today. There’s also a bit of a lingering breeze (even windy for the Cape and Islands) this morning, but the winds will calm this afternoon. We’re left with a crisp, cool Saturday! Highs will be below normal; only in the mid to upper 50s, to near 60° in some spots. But remember, those temperatures are taken out of the direct sunlight – So, if you bask in the sun, you can easily feel 5-10° warmer… and even warmer yet, if you’re sipping hot apple cider with rum in it! :c)
High pressure is settling in as our dominate feature for the weekend. That will keep things nice and sunny, and gradually bring about a warming trend. However, the mostly clear skies and light winds we’re expecting overnight tonight will allow for the temps to drop into Sunday morning. Some of the coldest spots in the suburbs outside of Boston will drop into the upper 30s. The Frost Advisory for Metrowest has been cancelled, but is still in effect for Western Mass. (see graphic at the bottom).
Now, back to that gradual warm up… Tomorrow’s forecast is LOVELY, in my opinion. After that cold morning, afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, with some spots even hitting 70°! Again, just perfect weather for all of your fall activities; be it leaf-peeping, apple-picking, cider-drinking, cider-donut-eating… and yes, even football-watching.
