YARMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - Two people have died and one is injured after a car crash in Yarmouth Saturday night.

At 10:40 p.m Saturday night, Yarmouth Police and Fire Department responded to reports of a two car crash.

The crash happened on Buck Island Road.

When officers arrived they began treating the victims who had suffered traumatic injuries due to the crash.

Two of the three people involved in the crash have died and the third was transported to Cape Cod Hospital to treat serious injuries.  They are currently being treated at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for life threatening injuries.

One driver who was unable to survive has been identified as 22-year-old Caroline A. Liberty of West Yarmouth.

The other driver who is currently in critical condition has been identified as 60-year-old Mary E. Ardan Charlton, Massachusetts.

The passenger who was unable to survive has been identified as 56-year-old Thomas Ardan the husband of Mary Ardan.

A portion of Buck Island Road was closed for about four hours while a preliminary investigation was completed.
