UNDATED (WHDH) — The father of missing Maine toddler Ayla Reynolds is due in court Wednesday.

Justin DiPietro has a hearing on an assault charge that's not related to the disappearance of his daughter

Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds is expected to hold a news conference after the hearing.

She has said she has evidence that DiPietro had something to do with Ayla's disappearance.

She's hoping the evidence puts pressure on authorities to arrest DiPietro.

The 20-month-old was last seen in December 2011 with her father.

He claims she went missing after he put her to bed.

No arrests have been made.
