It’s not a big storm, but at times, flakes fly today and tomorrow as scattered snow showers and snow squalls roll though. The best chance for bursts of heavier snow in a squall comes in today around midday/afternoon. With that said, even this morning will feature scattered flurries and patchy light snow which may dust the ground in spots through mid morning. With the instability increasing with the day time "heating", heavier snow showers and squalls will be scattered about this afternoon. That’ll provide an opportunity for brief bursts of snow to produce a coating-1". A few towns may even come closer to 2". In any squall, reduced visibility and slick spots on the roads are possible. The squalls are hit and miss, much like summer time pop-up showers.
A few snow showers roll through tomorrow, although not as widespread. Temps Thursday are colder, in the mid 20s to near 30.
The story this weekend becomes the Arctic blast of air the charges in. A few snow showers are possible Friday night/Saturday morning before the cold air floods in on a gusty northerly wind. Temps Saturday start in the teens, drop into the single digits by evening and plunge below 0 at night. Combined with a gusty wind, wind chills head for -20! It’ll be uncomfortably cold for date night Saturday night. The wind eases Sunday afternoon, but it’s a frigid Valentine’s Day with highs in the low to mid teens. Good snuggle weather! Stay warm.
