Dozens of firefighters were on the scene Monday night as a fire burned through a building in Worcester.
The fire sparked at Dario Diesel Truck Center in Worcester. The business does repairs on trucks and supplies truck parts.
“When I got here, the flames were 50 feet tall over the building,” said Worcester resident Brian Walsh.
Firefighters said they ran into issues with the water supply getting enough water to the hoses to extinguish the fire. A fence had to be cut through to get the fire trucks closer to the building.
Chemicals from inside the repair shop also added more challenges and there is crew from the department of environmental protection on scene.
One firefighter was treated for heat-related issues but is he expected to be OK.
Workers said it appears the fire started in the middle of the building between the service and the parts departments.
The cause is under investigation.
