HYDE PARK, Mass. (WHDH) — Firefighters were on the scene for hours Saturday afternoon and evening battling a massive fire at a warehouse in Hyde Park.

The fire started late Saturday afternoon at the Hyde Park Masonry and Landscape Supplies on Grantley Street. Intense flames burned through the warehouse, causing its roof to collapse.

Firefighters were unable to get inside the building all day Saturday and into the night because of the hazardous materials and chemicals burning inside.

As a precaution, nearby residents were evacuated.

Two firefighters were injured but are expected to be OK.

There are now concerns that hazardous chemicals may have leaked out during the firefighting efforts.

The fire was completely knocked down early Sunday morning.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
