BOSTON (WHDH) - Fire crews battled a three-alarm blaze in Boston’s Beacon Hill section that displaced between 20 and 25 people over the weekend.

Boston Fire Department officials say the fire broke out at an apartment building on Temple Street around 12:10 a.m. Sunday. About two dozen residents were in the building at the time it started.

Fire officials say the blaze originated on the structure’s top floor and caused an estimated $750,000 in damage before it was extinguished.

A firefighter was treated for a hand injury, but no one else was hurt. Members of the Red Cross arrived on-scene to assist displaced residents in finding a place to spend the night.

An investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing.
