GLOUCESTER , MASS. (WHDH) - The Gloucester Fire Department battled a large fire at a junkyard on Monday.
According to fire officials, just after 12 p.m. firefighters responded to Quarry Street for a report of a fire.
When officers arrived, they found multiple cars in various stages of the recycling process that were burning in stacks, creating heavy flames and smoke.
Firefighters from Rockport, Manchester and Essex responded to help prevent heat exhaustion.
Firefighters remain on scene putting out the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
Officials will investigate once the fire has been extinguished.
