Firefighters came to the rescue of a deer that was stuck in a backyard swimming pool on Wednesday.
The deer was stuck in the deep end of a swimming pool in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s estimated that the animal was trapped for more than eight hours.
Homeowner Heidi Martin-Parrish noticed the deer at around midnight when she let her dogs outside.
The Kansas City Police Department says animal control and police were at the scene first but couldn’t figure out how to get the deer out of the pool. Firefighters were finally able to free the animal a little while later when they arrived on scene.
