SCITUATE, MASS. (WHDH) - A fire broke out at a home in Scituate Monday.
Three people were taken to the hospital, but everyone is expected to be OK.
According to the Scituate Fire Department, firefighters got the call for help around 12:00 p.m. When they got to the home, firefighters found two people trapped inside.
According to the fire department, the fire was very challenging to put out due to the house being on Bailey Island Road, which is on a remote island. Fire officials said there were no fire hydrants in the area.
Firefighters had to use 500 yards of fire hose to douse the fire with water.
Crews were able to rescue a mother and her son from inside the building.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials said a burning candle could be the possible cause.
