The first human case of Zika has been confirmed in New Hampshire.
An adult woman in New Hampshire contracted the disease through sexual contact with a symptomatic man, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. The man had traveled to a country with Zika activity.
Health officials say the woman has fully recovered.
Zika is a mosquito-borne virus that can be transmitted through sexual activity. The disease can cause fevers, rashes, conjunctivitis and joint pain.
